Pictures of Tanzania

Back to Africa

In August 2000, I joined a group of friends in Tanzania to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa.  The trek was physically demanding but not technically difficult, and thanks to the help of one or two people—our cook, two guides, and 17 porters—we all made it to the top safely.  After the trek, I spent a week on safari in the Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti National Parks, followed by a blissful week on the beach on the legendary spice island of Zanzibar.

Roy Safaris did a great job of organizing both the trek and safari and I would definitely recommend them to anyone considering a similar trip.
