| Hoi An is a small, sleepy village about halfway down the coast between Hanoi
and Saigon. It was once an important commercial port and textiles center, but today
caters to tourists who come here to buy custom tailored clothing for less than the price of a cup of coffee back home. Dozens of tailor
shops line the narrow streets and alleyways of the Hoi An,
interspersed with sidewalk cafes, open air restaurants, antique shops and art galleries.
At night, Hoi An transforms into a kaleidoscope of color as Chinese lanterns
light up the shops and restaurants. |
